Our opening hours are changing slightly. Winter opening hours now apply. We are now open from 8am-4.30pm Monday-Friday and will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and all bank holidays.

Christmas Closing: We will be closing at noon on Friday 22nd December and will re-open at 8am on Tuesday 2nd January. We wish all of our customers a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year!

Carters of Swanwick Ltd. was established in 1921, we specialise in power gardening and ground-care equipment for the domestic, professional and local authority markets from lawnmowers to ride-on tractors.

Carters of Swanwick are trusted and respected throughout the garden power and machinery industry. Situated opposite Swanwick train station in Park Gate, Southampton, our showroom is one of, if not the largest in the South of England. It is well worth a visit to view the comprehensive selection and ranges of top brand Garden Machinery.

We are Authorised Dealers for many leading brands such as Mountfield, Stiga, Cobra, Cub Cadet, Hayter, Husqvarna and Stihl to name but a few.

Our parts department is as important to us as our sales department and carries many of the routine spares for the lawnmowers, chainsaws and other machines that we sell. Currently, we provide spares to the UK market for all major manufacturers in the trade, as well as a lot of the older brands including Howard, Yamaha, Cramer and Gianni Ferrari. We get daily deliveries of spares – so if we do not have it, we can get it ordered in quickly for you.

After-sales support is provided by our extensive in-house workshops where you will find factory-trained technicians with a wealth of experience.

Carters of Swanwick Ltd have got some fantastic second-hand lawnmower and tractor deals.  All of our used lawnmowers, garden tractors, chainsaws, brushcutters and general garden machinery are fully inspected and serviced in our own in-house workshops; they will provide many years of service at great prices.

We even offer a warranty on most of our second-hand machines so as to back up the work done by our qualified engineers.

Also often available are “graded” mowers. Graded mowers are showroom or display models and often have blemishes or marks, but are otherwise new and unused. These graded machines come with a 12-month Warranty and are offered at reduced prices.

As a result of this our Parts Department covers new and old machines as we have access to a massive network of spare part providers. This also applies to specific spares and accessories.

With thousands of parts in stock ranging from chainsaw chains, trimmer line through to drive belts, engine components and a huge back catalogue available to order, we are pretty confident of keeping your garden machinery pride and joy running at peak performance with manufacturer-specific, authentic parts. If we don’t stock it, we can get it!

All servicing is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s service advice. All repairs are carried out using genuine manufacturer’s spare parts, in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
